Garden time in Plön, Germany!
I joined my sister and her husband for a day at Plön! Plön is the district seat of the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and has about 8,700 inhabitants. The city lies right on the shores of Schleswig-Holstein’s biggest lake, the Great Plön Lake, as well as on several smaller lakes, touching the town on virtually all sides. The town’s landmark is Plön Castle which was built in the 17th century on a hill overlooking the town.
The house belongs to the Bruhn-Dopp Family and is offered for rent under their website Paradies am See (here).
The special feature of this paradise at the see is the reed-thatched roof! Thatch is a natural reed and grass which, when properly cut, dried, and installed, forms a waterproof roof. The swoops and rools of texture is very distinctive.
From the garden you will have a fantastic access to two of the five surrounding seas, the Höftsea and the Behler Sea.
The sea offers its visitors many activities; from swimming, canoeing, boat tour, pedal boating, rowing boat to sailing boat!
